THE NORWAY AMBASSADOR TO GHANA’S VISIT TO ARMY PEACE OPERATIONS TRAINING SCHOOL

Norway’s Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Dr. John Mikal Kvistad, recently visited the Army Peace Operations Training School (APOTS) at Bundase. The visit was a great opportunity to dive into the school’s training mandate and further strengthen the bilateral partnership between Norway and Ghana in peace support operations

During his visit on Wednesday, 6 May 2026, the Ambassador and his team got a firsthand look at how APOTS prepares military personnel for the world's most complex operational environments. Which also is a vital step in deepening our partnership for global peace.

Colonel Reuben Dela Klutse, Commander of APOTS, briefed the delegation on the school’s mission and its huge impact on global peacekeeping. From specialized training programs to meeting international standards, APOTS continues to be a powerhouse within the Ghana Armed Forces - equipping personnel with the skills they need to succeed in the field and to meet strict international standards of operating in the theater.

HE Dr Kvistad, during his visit reflected on the deep-rooted ties between Norway and Ghana, specifically our history of serving together in UNIFIL (Lebanon). This enduring spirit of comradeship continues to fuel our joint commitment to international peace and security. HE Dr Kvistad and his entourage toured the APOTS facilities to witness firsthand the rigorous training and practical methods used to prepare personnel for the field. From the high level of discipline to the top-tier instructional standards, it’s clear why this school is a leader in peace operations training.
